Hi!  I'm Pixie!  I used to live with a lot of other dogs.  I've been told it was close to 50, but I can't count.  My foster mom says I was likely responsible for a lot of the population at my old house, because I've clearly had a lot of puppies, but I'm not sharing any details of my past!  I was really underweight when I was rescued, and I'm glad the K Kids took me in even though I'm not at all a dachshund!  Everyone's best guess is that I'm a beagle/boxer/lab mix.  What I am is awesome!  I'm sweet, cuddly, great with kids and basically uninterested in other dogs and cats.  I might decide to play with other dogs once I'm feeling better.  I had worms, and I have all that weight to gain (the vet said 5-10 pounds).  I also got kennel cough pretty badly, so I'm healing from that now.  And I came to K Kids in heat, which foster mom says was perfect timing because I didn't have to be a mom again!  Once I'm done with my heat cycle, I can be spayed and have some random bumps removed off of me.  My main job right now is to gain weight, and I'm all about it!  I LOVE food!!  I love blankets and dog beds.  Foster mom has been crating me when everyone leaves because she's worried I'll counter surf, but I seem to be calming down about trying to find food as I realize I'm not going to have to fight for food ever again!  I have some scars on me from fighting for food.  My foster family says I am perfection, and apparently they have had a lot of dogs here before me.  I do need some help with a routine for housebreaking.   But I'm a good girl and I will get it!  Oh, and I walk really well on a leash and I ride really well in a car!

Pixie is available for foster to adoption right now until she is spayed.  Her adoption fee is $275.  She is being fostered in Charlottesville, VA.
