When I first came to K Kids Dachshund Rescue, I was wearing a “ball and chain” around my neck (‘before‘ photo – yikes!) What a bother to lug around that tumor – I’m so glad it’s gone now! Amanda saw beyond the ‘baseball’ tumor and chose to give me another chance to make someone happy. Maybe you can be my new family???

I’m about 8 years old and weigh 20 pounds.  I’m dachshund with maybe some beagle ancestry, cause I’m mostly white with some black beauty marks.  True to my dachshund-hood, I LOVE to eat!

I also love to drink water.  I’m told I have something called Diabetes Insipidus.  But no worries.  I take pills that cost 50 cents a day and I’m totally normal! It’s not regular diabetes—-I just think I need to drink a lot without my medicine, and therefore I pee a lot!

And of course I LOVE to go for walks and explore. But I’m also pretty eager to come back inside cause, well, you know....treats.  At my foster home I live in my own room cause when I spoke up to my foster mom’s big male dog, he tried to eat me. But I was tougher than he expected.

I enjoy napping in my bed.  I can stay in a crate for a little while but I don’t like to be stuck in it, so I make a lot of noise when I think they’ve forgotten me in the crate.

I enjoy my petting and belly rubs and I know I will make some family very happy. Wouldn’t you like to meet me?
